temperature losing region

Hi
Can I make a region inside my volume where the gas will rapidly lose temperature depending on the regions temperature as it passes through it. This is not the same as making the walls a different temperature, also if i patch a region with a temperature that will only be an initialization. I want this region to constantly have a low temperature. |

cant you just put in a subdomain and make it a heat source. Then chose a negative value? I can try and pull my heat source model out later on today.

I tried, works. Temperature is sinking. I had 2 models for a buoyancy simulation. One with heated walls and one with a 2nd domain and a heat sourc. If I make the heat flux a negative value, the temperature drops.

how can i relate the heat flux to the temperature, i cant just put in a random negative value can i.
For me the gas passes through a zone with water at 24 C, since I am not doing this as a multiphase simulation and just considering the gas, I want it to lose its temperature as it would to water in that zone if water was there and this was a miultiphase simulatiion. Hope I make sense |

you have to put in some heat flux in kW per m^2 on that boundary wall where the gas touches the water. Pipe surface or whatever you are using.
http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/cfx...et-outlet.html thats the thread I startes on a simular topic. You can make a fluid domain and have a wall with heat flux per m^2. Or make 2 domains, one is a heat source with heat flux per m^3. |
