porosity

hi,

i have a problem relating to the porosity. how do i define a porous medium in Fluent. the face permeability is not known, how do i calculate it.

the problem is that, the flow occurs through capillaries. the diameter of the capillaries is known. how do i calculate the porosity of the medium to simulate the condition to have a capillary in the model.? requesting suggestions.

get a good book on hydraulic resistance - idelchik is good. find your case in the book fit your case to porous media model in fluent - read 6.19.6 User Inputs for Porous Media

Hi!

i also meet similar problem.you may define your calculation region as a porous medium.it is one of fluid regions. calculating the porosity of the medium need your hoop file using UDF .
