UDF compilation: need VC++?

Hi, you all.

I want to compile some UDFs in a windows box. I have two doubts:

-1st: Do I need to buy another software (VC++) just to be able to compile Fluent UDFs? Or can I compile them with other free compilers, such as Microsoft Visual C++ Toolkit 2003, etc?

-2nd: I can almost compile an UDF with Microsoft Visual C++ Toolkit 2003, but for an error when linking. The error is:

LIBC.lib(ismbspc.obj) : fatal error LNK1103: debugging information corrupt; recompile module

I can't find file "ismbspc.obj" in my PC. Those of you who have VC++, you would happen to have that file in your PC?

Thank you very much for the help. I am really looking forward to sort this out. =)

Best regards, Biga

How did you compile the UDF in notepad? Do you mean the notepad from windows?

How did you make your UDF work in your PC?

Thanx! =)

Re: UDF compilation: need VC++?

For my model, the intrepreted UDf was similar to one of the examples in the help file, so I just modified it to my geometry and save the file with "dot c" @[xxx.c]. Maybe u can even save it as txt file. Im not sure about that, have not tried it. Try your compilation and tell me. If there is an error in compiling, fluent will tell you when you read the file.
