Random Perturbations

Hi all,

Does anyone know how to add random perturbations/fluctuations to a fluid domain? I've tried using the rand() function in a UDF with no success. I'm trying to do this in order to start a LES simulation from a converged k-e solution.

Thanks in advance,

Steve

Re: Random Perturbations

If you can wait a bit more, FLUENT 6.2 has a simple built-in TUI command that superimpose quasi-random velocity components on top of the mean velocity field, based on the k-epsilon fields.
