Default specified operating gravity

Hi,

I run a turbulent multiphase eulerian/eulerian simulation with oil and water in a incline pipe. - When I donīt select the specified operating gravity - or when I set the specified operating gravity to 800 (the density of my light phase): the static pressure field doesnīt match the hydrostatic field I was expecting

But when I select it with the default value of 1,225 my static pressure field looks like correct.

Can anybody explain me whatīs going on?

Benjamin

hi, Setting the value to be zero is ok.

first off, I assume you're referring to the specified operating density, not the operating gravity which doesn't exist. Second, if you look through the manual you will see that if you disable the specified operating density, Fluent will use the volume-weighted average density in its formulation of the density difference in the meomentum equations. If you set the operating density to some constant value, then it will use that value. Look at your problem carefully and determine which of these two is more applicable.
