Default periodic boundary conditions

Hi all

I am trying to model a cylindrical volume with an annulus. I have to read the boundaries on the top and bottom faces as periodic. I am having problems while meshing the volume. These are the steps that I am following:

1. I have created a size function on the interior cylindrical face and attached it to the whole volume

2. I have linked the two faces (top and bottom) as periodic with reverse orientation.

3. I tried meshing the whole volume under these conditions, by a tetrahedral scheme.

The meshes are generated for all the faces, but the generation of volume mesh fails. I have tried working on the same problem and the same conditions without the periodic condition and have got results.

But I need to implement the periodic condition now, please let me know the reason why its not working.

Thanks
