The BC loss

Hi all ,

I have a problem in modeling a rotating hot cylinder in a box (2D). I specify a cylinder surface as wall in Gambit but after export mesh. it's appear that this BC was not found in my BC lists in Fluent. How do I fix this problem ?, anybody help me please.

Jackie

Re: The BC loss

So you modeled it as a 2D problem, did I get that correct? If so, when you attached your BC it should have been attached to the edge (making sure the solver was set to Fluent 5/6), and when you exported your mesh you have to make sure to check the "Export 2D X-Y mesh" That might not be the exact wording, but it's a checkbox just under the filename box in the export mesh dialog window.

The only other thing I can think of is that there were two edges right on top of one another, and one of them wasn't connected to the mesh, and that's the one that you assigned the BC to.

If this doesn't help, then when you export the mesh, read the status window to see if there are any warnings or errors.

Hope this help, and goodluck Jason
