Hi all,
I'm working on flow through valves where there is a big chance that cavitation would occur. I'm looking for some data on cavitation pressures at various temperatures for different fluids (data for just SAE10W would also be good). Can you please direct me to a source (textbook, paper, website, etc) where this info might be available? Thanks a lot! FVS |

Hi!
It looks you have a problem. Cavitation in fluids like motor oil is very different from that in water. The biggest problem is that the oil in made up of more components, each having its own vapour pressure - the vaporization process occours slowly (not like in water where it occurs in a moment at one pressure).
