Split boundary
 

Hello,

can someone tell me how to separate a straight boundary (pressure outlet) in two or three boundaries.

Or can I do this in Gambit, without loosing all my input data of fluent?

I think you can use Grid->Separate->Face in Fluent without loosing your input... I used Grid->Separate->Cells and it should work in the same way.

You can mark cells by region. You can mark a hexagonal, cylindrical, or spherical group of cells. This is under adapt -> region. Instead of adapting though, just select "mark". Then you can go to Grid -> Separate Faces, and choose separate by Mark.

Due to the limited ways of marking by region you're limited in how many ways you can separate the face. Also, marking cells marks cells whose cell centers fall within (or out of if you selected outside in the options for region adapt) the region you define. Depending on your mesh, this usually doesn't create a clean edge, but if you don't need it to be exact, then this method works pretty well.
