hi anybody! what is the mass transfer model in fluent?is it the species model?and which version of fluent is better for mass transfer modelling?

The mass transfer model is known as "species transport model" in FLUENT.

In FLUENT 6.1 it's only possible to model species transport in single-phase flows or using the DPM model, while you can't model mass transfer in multiphase models.

dear ap! thank you for reply. i want to bye fluent 6.2.can it do mass transfer (without chemical reaction) for fluidized bed? regards,masood

Hi Masood,

You should have a look at ANSYS CFX-5 for your application. CFX supports mass transfer between muliple phases and has specific fluidized bed models.
