working in cylindrical coordinates in fluent
Hi there, I want to work in cylindrical coordinates and have made my geometry in the above coordinates in Gambit. I did it by making a local coordinates of type cylindrical. I have run my program in fluent and now i want to make planes and lines to view the my result. But under the surface/plane panel it asks me to enter the x, y and z coordinates of three points to make a plane. I want to rotate this plane by 45 deg. Plane tool is an option but I am finding it cumbersome. So, how can I make fluent to ask me r, theta and z instead of x,y and z? Is there any method other than planetool to rotate a plane? regards Randheer

Define your axis for the Fluid zone under the Boundary Conditions window. Then you can create an Iso-Surface of Constant Grid Angle. This angle is right-hand rule based on the origin of your axis and your positive axis direction as you define it under boundary conditions. There's some other options you can do under Iso-Surface (like constant x, y, or z values, constant r values, etc). Check them out and see if they get you where you want.
