Hai everybody, I am college student and doing a project in Grid motion. In a circular pipe (i.e. 2D), i want to rotate the inner side of the wall by 7degree in 1 sec. Outer Wall of the grid is fixed. My question:

1. It is possible in Fluent 6.0 using UDF by "DEFINE_GRID_MOTION" or "DEFINE_CG_MOTION" command.

2. I need to rotate the inner wall Grid (Nodes) for 7 degree.

If any body knows How to do this Plz. help me.

Why don't you use mutiple reference frame method or sliding mesh method. It is explained in chapter 9 of the user's guide.

I have tried in multiple reference frame and by sliding mesh method, but in my case i have to rotate the inner side of the cylinder by 7 degree only.

In case of both MRF and sliding mesh method we can't maintain the rotation upto 7 DEGREE. I have studied the 9 TH chapter- It say we can do this option by using Dynamic mesh method. It say's we have to develop a program using UDF.

My probem is to rotate the inner cylinder grid by 7 Degrees only. I am not very clear with the UDF's. If you could help me that will be a great information for me to solve my problem.

So now I understand what you try to simulate. Normally you could use for that the 2 udf that you speak about in your first message.

Yes, I am trying to simulate the inner cylinder grids using the 2 udf. But I am not very clear which to use for my Problem.
