Starting Gambit: Please Help!!

I am a newbie in gambit and the first problem that I've met is to start the soft gambit. My OS is UNIX. As the tutorial suggests, I've typed "gambit -id basgeom" in order to create the file named basgeom and launch the GUI but it doesn't work. ERROR 30. Can sbdy help me??

just openb the gambit by typing gambit and start working on it .. save as some id name ..then u can open it by gambit idname
