heat transfer not working well
 

Hi all,

I have a vertical duct where there is air inside.

The bottom walls of the duct heat up the air as it flows in through the inlet.

When i remove the insulation of the wall, only a small region near the wall shows temp decrease. The main bulk of the air still maintains a high temp.

Is this normal? or have i done something wrong? Pls help. Thanks in advance

Check your flow regime. If you have laminar flow, you would expect a near-wall effect only.
