Hi all,

I'm doing a heat transfer problem. Hot air is flowing through a chimney channel. The chimney wall is made up of two layers of different solids.

What boundary type should i specify at the boundary between the two solids?

Should i put wall-coupled? or should i put interior?

Thanks

you have to choose coupled, as you have two different solid materials.

hi Thomas,

If i choose coupled, then which material should i specify?

Under the wall-coupled boundary conditions, we need to specify the solid material. The shadow zone must have the same material as the wall zone.

Hope you understand wha ti am trying to say.

Thanks for your reply.

hi,

for the wall and shadow-wall you can only choose one kind of material. so you can choose solid-mat1 or solid-mat2. there would be no difference in your simulation. the material of a double-sided wall has no influcence in the calculation. but i you have a standard wall the material effects the simulation.

you īre welcome
