Hi. I'm currently doing a project. I had checked the face mesh equiangle skewness for all 2D elements and it's all below 0.83. But when i do the volume mesh in GAMBIT, my initilazation failed. Can anyone tell me whether it is due to my face meshes??? How can i rectify this problem???

Lots of things could cause this... A face mesh of 0.83 is a bit high. Might be able to work with it, but I would try to get it into the mid to low 0.7's. Other things that can cause it are sharp angles (two faces coming together in an acute angle), gaps (two faces that are too close together to build a proper mesh between them), and a failed face mesh (sometimes if you're meshing a lot of faces, one face mesh can fail and you might not notice it).

The first thing I would do would be to try to fix that 0.83... if that doesn't work you may have to decompose the volume (break it up into smaller more manageable volumes).

Hope this helps, and goodluck, Jason
