stones 0.055 in porous media
Hello,
I have a big cylinder full with CaCO3 stones of 0.055 m diameter how can i say that to mr. fluent? Thanks a lot! |
Re: stones 0.055 in porous media
You need to come up with proper values for C1 and C2 when you use porous media model in FLUENT. I would check out FLUENT manual ,chapter 6, to see what's their hint on that or use following reference to calculate proper Ergun coefficients
Kaviany, M., 1991, Principles of Heat Transfer in Porous Media, Springer-Verlag, New York. |

Hi,
a well tested correlation of the loss coeficients based on the open porosity and diameter of packed spheres: is called the Ergun equation. You can find it in many texts like "Unit operations of Chemical Engineering" McCabe, Smith and Harriot. Good Luck..........Bak_Flow |
