Cavitation

Hello!

I am simulating the flow inside diesel injectors, particularly being interested in the cavitation phenomena. Unfortunately the problem is very unstable. Very strange flow behavior is predicted by fluent. In the new version 6.2 even the old tutorial(for 6.1) file "cav" does not work.

The turbulence model is Spalart Allmaras, Pressure-Velocity Coupling SIMPLEC, discretization second order for al eq.

Does anybody have dealt with this kind of calculations? Some suggestions?

Many Thanks

Atzaru

Have a look at this:

Since Foam is open source now you can try using it instead of fluent.

Hi!

The model in fluent version 6.1.18 and later works ok if you make unsteady simulation. I have never achieved a stable simulation (with reasonable results) for a steady case...

hope it helps MATEUS
