Default heat transfer coefficient ?????

Hi all:

When I was plotting htc's (wall heat transfer coeffecient's) in Fluent I see strange numbers (-ve values in 1000's when flow is incompressible having mach number < 0.1). I checked fluid and wall temepratues, it was showing correct values. I used references tables to plug values from there. I suspect something went wrong somewhere. Can anybody help me in this regards.

thanks in advance (very urgent to me) Babu

Fluent calculates h through the reference temperature in "report" -> "reference values". You should first calculate mass-average temperature in the section where you r interested in h calc-s. Then, plug it into the reference value. Hope it helps.

fluent is not a very smart animal.

i often let fluent caulate heat flux first ,then the temperature difference ,and area . then i get the value of h

dpshaka if you have a heat flux, what do you need the area for?
