Default Surfaces in Fluent

I'm trying to create an edge on an existing surface that I can use for x-y plots. I have 4 wings in an x configuration, and I want to create an edge on the surface of the wings at the mid-span. In otherwords, the edge I want is the intersection of the wing and a plane at 45° and offset some distance from the origin. I can create the plane, but is there a way to create an edge at the intersection of this plane and my wing?

I appreciate any advice.

Thanks, Jason

surface/isosurface/ then you have to indicate grid in what direction you want and also select your wing and create you cand plot it after in xy-plot

The wing is 45° between the xy and xz planes. So I need to create a plane at 45° and offset from the x axis about 3"... I have not been able to find any option under iso-surfaces that would accomplish this. If you have any recommendations, they are appreciated.

Thanks, Jason

I think I got it!

Not sure if anyone's reading this thread, but just in case:

Under define->boundary conditions I can change the location and direction of the axis for the fluid so that the axis passes through the point on my wing where I want the plane. Then I can create a surface of constant grid->anglular coordinate and create a plane at 45degrees, and it will use the axis of the fluid to create this plane. Then when I create the surface I use the "from surface" and choose my wing.

It seems like a round-a-bout way of doing something that seems like it would be simple. I'm always up for suggestions on doing things better though, so I'm still up for any recommendations.

Thanks for your help, Jason
