Fluent - Iterate Command

The geometry was created in gambit and I saved the mesh and imported it into fluent and set the flow conditions and properties and also the necessary information for the solver. But I run into a weird problem , I cannot click the iterate button to run the solver. I'm not sure if I need to have my administrator have a look at it or is it some setting which i need to modify .

Did you initialize first? Solve -> Initialize -> Initialize.

I initialised the solution and also set other solver controls. There seems to be some buttons in the menu which are dimmed and i cannot use them and iterate is one of them .

No idea, which version of fluent are you using by the way?

yaar, this would be easy hack, first set up simple laminar case, initialise the case, if u see the iterate button and can iterate few times, set up ur model and directly go to iterate without initialisign again. i used to do this, when on combustion cases ..on initialization fluent gives segementation violation error, and it used to work fine.

If you write from the TUI: it 1 does Fluent start iterating? Luca
