Crashing GAMBIT with large .dbs filesize
I have been using GAMBIT under WinXP to construct a geometry from file. Problem is that when the .dbs file reaches 2GB GAMBIT crashes.
Is it possible to increase this filesize limit? At least until the geometry can be cleaned up. Owen |

Re: Crashing GAMBIT with large .dbs filesize
Probably not. The Windows memory manager has some issues and generally will not allocate more than 2GB for any single process. The amount of physical memory in the machine is irrelevant.
We ran into this same issue several months ago, and together with FLUENT were able to confirm that it is a Windows issue. It only occurs on Windows, not on Linux. We upped the RAM in one machine and found no improvement. |

Thanks for the posts, guys. Hopefully we will be switching to a 64bit linux O/S soon. I'll post again if this makes any difference.
