Hy! Is it possible to create a double flow with heat exchange: solid (rocks - d=0.11m - gravitational) and air, in the same volume? It would be much help!

You can model gas-solid flows with heat exchange in FLUENT 6.1 and 6.2. See the Eulerian model.

Thank you for your response! i tried that, but i have this unswer when i initialize the solution: "fluent 6.2.16 recived a fatal signal (SEGMENTATION VIOLATION)". i think is becouse the dimension of the solid pfaze is to big (0.11 m), but it can be that i am wrong. Do you know more about this? Regards, Mihai

Well, I'm not that sure that the kinetic theory is still valid for such a big pieces of solid. I seriously doubt it.

I'm not sure of the reason of FLUENT error message however.

Best regards,

ap
