how to simulate one deep well

I will simulate one geothermic well, which concerns heat exchange due to water and geotherm. The length of the well is 100m,the diameter is 20mm.the temperature on the surface of earth is 4 Ceisus ,13 Ceisus at bottom of well. Any body can give some advice to create the model.

certainly you do have to consider a 2D case, the density has to be a function of temperature. The rest should be easy.

Re: how to simulate one deep well

thanks.but I find it produce too many mesh face elements.I use axissymmetic 2d model.so the semi-diameter is 10mm with the deepth 100m.If the interval size is 2 then it will create 5*50000 face elements. How to simulate easily.

Re: how to simulate one deep well

solve for a part of a domain eg.: 10 mm X 1m. Use that for the next 10 mm X 1m so u need 100 domain and u should write a script to save and read the output automatically and overnight u should get results ans this is only buoyancy driven flow.
