it seems to me that the file u r reaidng is old format file and probably needed to be converted to new format of fluent6.

Make sure the solver option is set to fluent 5/6 in gambit.

This is FLUENT 4 Grid file. you must have selected FLUENT 4 while assigning boundary zones to your geometry in GAMBIT.

Are you following Fil-->Read--->Case option? you may get this error in that case.

You should follow the path File-->Import-->Fluent 4
