symmetry

I'm having some difficulty forcing Fluent to return a symmetric velocity profile (it's close, but not close enough). I know the final result must be symmetric, but for certain reasons I cannot use the symmetry boundary condition.

Does anyone have suggestions on how to improve symmetry (for example, changing relaxation factors, moving to a higher-order solver, etc.)?

Thanks!

Re: symmetry

If you are performing steady-state calculations, are you sure you can? Some physics can only be solved using a transient approach. In such cases, the steady-state solution is often "close, but not close enough".
