Boundary condition-reverse flow

Hello everyone,

I am simulating infilling of sand slurry into a water pond. The pond is filled with water initially then sand slurry (two phases) was sprayed onto the water surface. I really can not configure out how to set up this inlet boundary.

I simplify the inlet zone as a round surface with the same area as the pipe with which the sand slurry was sprayed onto the water surface. Then another problem come s up. Since the elevation of the pond surface moves up as more and more sand slurry was sprayed, how can I set up the outlet boundary. Should I set the remaining area of the top pond surface as pressure outlet. But if I do that, the reverse flow will occur at the outlet, especially close the inlet boundary. So, could anybody please give me some advice?

Thanks,

Gavin Yang
