3-d grid generation

Hi,

I am about to start my project in Fluent. I have to simulate the flow thru a 3 dimensional Heat exchanger in fluent. For this i have to generate a 3-d grid for the heat exchanger in Gambit. As i am new to these sofwares... i request you to tell me the tips and the things to take care of in generating a 3-d grid. it will be helpful for me, if anyone give me some solved examples files of 3-d geometries.

thank you

Re: 3-d grid generation

Dear Madhukar: I believe you had better to try two dimesional modeling first. Use down-top approach.Means that you have to creat vertices first and then edges and faces. Mesh(Grade) edges first. By grading edges you can create structures quad. meshes in relatively simple but a little more time consuming. As possible, try to use structured hexahedral mesh using map meshing scheme. They are best for accuracy and convergence.
