Accelerate convergence in coupled solver

HI,

I am using Coupled solver for my simulations.I have seen that the residuals of Continuity, momentum and energy are converging very slowly. Is there any way to accelerate convergence in coupled solvers.

Thanks in advance

Re: Accelerate convergence in coupled solver

You should raise the Courant number but pay attention the solution may diverge if it's too high. Anyway if you look at the manual you see coupled residuals are defined in a different way from the segregated ones. This is why segregated residuals always appear smaller than the coupled ones and this could be misleading. Luca

Hi,

I increased the courant number from default value of 5 to 50 it converges fast.when I increased still high value solution got diverged. Is there any criteria to choose the courant number. If I want to solve some other problem I may not use the same courant numbers.

Thank you for your reply.

You could try FMG initialization in 6.2.
