Import results in Tecplot
Hi,
When I want to import .cas and .dat files in Tecplot, I get this error: "Bad face type 0 for face #1 in Faces section (Section 2013)." What is that and what can I do? BR, David |
Re: Import results in Tecplot
What do you want to do? You want to plot your results? If that, you can Export from Fluent to File of Techplot (*.plt) and then you can use it directly.

Re: Import results in Tecplot
Did you import fluent files directly to the tecplot?
you can!!! |
Re: Import results in Tecplot
I understand that you mean the Result files of Fluent, Is it right? If it is right, you just need choose the option in the Export panel to export file in *.plt type, and use it by techplot.
I hope it's ok! pah |
Re: Import results in Tecplot
I mean you can import fluent files in tecplot directly by tecplot software. You don't need to make any files from fluent to tecplot.
Goto "Tecplot Software: /File/import/fluent data loader" and import .cas and .dat files directly by tecplot. |
Re: Import results in Tecplot
I did not do like that way any time. I just use Techplot to see the result from Fluent.

Re: Import results in Tecplot
Using Tecplot data loader is faster and better. Try it.

Re: Import results in Tecplot
In some ways it may be better, but not all variables are available. Say you want to plot velocity magnitude like in fluent. This is not avaiable in Tecplot and must be created using the equation creator using the x, y, and z velocities. Which in a wmay stinks cause it would be much easier if all this is available. I don't know why Tecplot does this.
