Hi all,
I've design some small wind turbine and I like to check it's efficiency. I want to know the rotational speed of the rotor, ( the wind speed velocity at the upstream is known.) However, if i use the multiple ref. frame. the rotational speed of the rotor is need and this is my problem. Could any body give some suggestion, how can i get it as an output from fluent. Thank you in acvance for all suggestion. Jackie |

Hi! you could search for a solution with an iterative method. You start with a guess MRF velocity. Then you solve the flow field, find the aerodyamic forces, solve for the angular velocity equation, find a new MRF ans so on...Luca

If you take a good staring velocity the procedure shuould converge in few interations (angular velocity should be quite low, so you can start with a good guess point by choosing the known velocity for a wind-turbine like yours).Luca
