Hi all

I am trying to solve the flow in a stirred tank with Sliding Grid method. While solving the flow, the velocities are not transfering from sliding zone to stationary zone. I think this is the problem because of the modelling of interface. Can anybody help me to know about how to treat the interface between the two zones.

In fluent when you creat interface there are options like period and coupled. Which type of interface should be selected.

Can anybody pls help

Thanks Gopal

1)Should be the same angle , overlapung boundary which may to represent interaces

2) Change in boundary GUI both to the interfaces

3) Create intefrace, with option of periodic enabled

That's all. Somethimes it need a few good iterations to distribute the flow in whole domain , renemember that it is unsteaty and time dependent. It is good idea to initialize flow in whole domain using steady-state approach, make some iterations and then switch to unsteady

goog luck

Thanks Michel. A small querry agian. I am solving the flow using the whole 360degree domain. It is still necessary to make the interfaces periodic?

Thanks Gopal

hi michel

I have tried with the 360 degree geometry with the interface created as you suggested. But still not getting the results.

One thing i want to ask: At the time we creat interface two walls boundry are created. Can you let me know what boundry conditions whould be given to these wall boundary

Thanks Gopal
