 August 1, 2005, 03:57 3D - Grids - Gambit #1 Gernot Guest   Posts: n/a When I want to create a 3-dimensional grid, it's necessary to create a 1-dimensional(line) grid at first and a 2-dimensional grid at second before connectiong this points to create a 3D-Grid inside the body. Thanks! Gernot

I'm not sure if I understood your posting correctly, but you may also create directly a 3D object in gambit (e.g. cube, sphere, etc.) rather than to draw first some lines, connect these to faces and create of the result a volume. In the same way, meshing a 3D object can be done bottom-up (I guess like you described it: first edges, then faces, and finally the volume), or top-down, i.e. by a direct meshing command. Generally, by bottom-up, you have much more influence on how the mesh will look like afterwards. The price for this flexibility is the time that you need to spent to create a nice 3D mesh by hand.
