Particle injection

Hi.

I am going to inject some particles into an air flow in a duct which has one inlet and two outlets. The outlet ducts have diffetent sizes, so I want to see what portion of the particles go in each outlet. The size and mass of particles can be ignored in case can simplify the things. The problem may be steady state or transient. Could somebody kindly tell me what is the best way to simulate the injection of the particles?

Thanks, Mazyar

Discrete phase model. Transient. If the behavior is steady state, it will show up.

Mazyar,

I am studying a similar model. I am calculating the fraction of discrete particles travelling through a side arm on a T junction.

I can simulate it, but need to know the mass fraction through each outlet.

Do you have a good method to calculate the relative fraction of particles travelling through each outlet?

Thanks

john.

John,

I think, you must specify the type of both outlets as OUTFLOW. By doing this, FLUENT will calculate the fraction at each exit.

Deposition Particle coordinate

Hi,

I am working on Aerosol Particle deposition in the specific region of human lungs. At this stage I am struggling on How to get deposited (or trapped) particle coordinates in fluent. Your help would me much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
