ERROR IN GAMBIT
 
Hi, I am trying to mesh a rushton turbine reactor with six blades. I created the reactor geometry and I splitted with cylinder around the turbine region so as to be able to use MFR/sliding mesh. In the process of meshing the inner volume(i.e within the turbine region), i got this error message ("Error: A mismatch of previously meshed intervals between outer and inner surface exists on volume volume 2 when using meshing scheme of cooper").

I need help in meshing this.

when you are remeshing, check the option 'remove old mesh', it is present just below 'mesh' check box.

Thanks for yr reply.Just did it the way u advised. Still the same error. I guess it have to do with volume maybe i need to decompose it. Do u have any idea of this?

this problem troubled me for long time, and as i remember it either went by the option i told you or by removing the mesh for volumes faces and edges separately.

What happens is when you remove the mesh for a volume, the underlying meshes for surfaces and edges remain. even though it does not show them on screen.

So i usually do like this remove the volume mesh, then select the faces and remove mesh on them too (even though no visible meshs) and similarly for edges.

i guess this shall do it.

well when i had this problem and no solution to it. i used to do this. I observed that the cooper scheme mesh can be applied for the first time without any problem. the error comes when we try to mesh the same volume again. so what i used to do is to first make the full geomtery say geo.dbs. and save it. before applying to anymesh, i will make a copy of it, say meshgeo01.dbs, and make the mesh on it. Further if i find out that i need to change the mesh again, i will make another copy from geo.dbs and will work on it. This way i only have to repeat the meshing part, and the time for geo part is at least saved.

You can try this sort of thing till you get any solution to it.
