suggestion need desktop configuration for fluent
 
I need suggestion on desktop configuration for fluent software. I want to purchase a desktop where I can use that as network for installing fluent and gambit , so please tell what kind of desktop configuration I should have I am planning to buy PC of DELL computer cause my company has some kind of bond on with dell people so please do suggest me

Cpu > 3Ghz Ram > 2Gb PC3200 HDD > 80Gb 7200rpm (or Raid0) At least 128mb video card

Well, Dell Computers with Pentium processors are not the best choice for serious CFD work, but their latest models with a dual ITANIUM processors look promising, wish you solve this satisfactorily and expect some future feedback, RAM at least 2GB, OS LINUX, if XP then you have to format your file system using NTFS that allows files of any size to be dealt with (Forget about the FAT32).

If you can afford it, get 2 Computers vs. 1 Dual CPU.

From running on Dell Dual 3.4Ghz P4 with 2gb of ram, I only saw about a 20% decrease in itteration time when running in parallel.
