HELP PLEASE! Mixture fraction

Hi All,

I am having some difficulties determining mixture fraction in fluent. I am simulating gas oil (c16h29) and my mixture is comprised of c16h19, o2 and n2 (i want to determine the mixture fraction before combustion begins). How can i determine the mixture fraction of my gaseous fuel in a given plane in Fluent?

Any suggestion(s) will be highly appreciated.

Counting on your assistance.

James

Re: HELP PLEASE! Mixture fraction

define it by mass fraction.

Hi, how is it done? If you do it by using mass fraction, will the results be normalized?

Thanks again for the help.

Re: HELP PLEASE! Mixture fraction

hi

for this u have to adapt the region whr u want to key in the volume fraction of the mixture...do adapt...>region give x and y values and click on mark..then close now go to initialize and initialize the values and then go to solve---->initialize--->patch...and under phases select ur phase and select volume fraction and in values give the values..

hope it works bye
