Meshing two volumes
 
Hi, I want to incorporate a solid model created in ProE into a cylinder and then mesh the flow domain within and around the solid. As of now, I just meshed the solid in GAMBIT. Can I create a cylinder separately in GAMBIT with the appropriate dimensions, mesh it and then incorporate the meshed solid into it, then subtract the volume of the solid from the volume of the cylinder to get the mesh of the flow domain? Is this a possibility?

Also, when creating volumes in GAMBIT, What are the units that it accepts? Do we have to specify the dimensions in METERS?

When I created the cylinder, I got a message that read: SINGLE VERTEX EDGE EDGE 2 HAS LESS THAN 3 INTERVALS, WHICH PREVENT IT FROM BEING MESHED. What does this mean?

:> Yes this is a good wayu to do it

:>Default is what you imported as, any way in fluent you need to specify what was your earlier mesh sothe Gambit units only need to be known thats it

:> split the cylinder top face with a vertex and then make extrude it to the volume of desired length thenew volume may not give you a problem while meshing (in cupper)_
