PROBLEM OF PRALLEL FLUENT HELP!!!!!!!!!!!1
 

HI EVERYBODY I am using fluent in parallel with using mpi and have computers in pallel>database but i have follwing problem i cannnot spawn any process on other processors second should i include host name in host text file third i want to know that i need to send and recive data through mpi any help nabeel

I had the very same problem. I also tried the text file. Did not help. I can spawn process on the second processor on the double processor machine, however I cannot do it on the other computers. So far I did not find a solution. No firewalls, two computers directly connected via appropriate cable and still nothing.

Have you tried the -pnet and the -pnmpi options?

fluent 3d -pnet -t(n) -cnf=(hostsfile)

or

fluent 3d -pnmpi -t(n) -cnf=(hostsfile)

I don't think the other comunicators allow you to spawn across mulitple machines. Also, you can use:

fluent 3d -pnet -t0

And then go to Parallel->Network->Configure and manually spawn compute nodes. I think the benefit to doing it this way is that if there is an error it shows up in the Fluent window, whereas the error doesn't always show up if trying to spawn from a hosts file.

hi first thankyou for reaponse and i am trying your method i want to know that i have to start parallel version of fluent on remote computers and second if error is that path not found then what should i do third what should i enter in host name and user name how i can get sure that it is working kindly guide me more nabeel

hi i followed your unstruction and mannually input compter name and spawned but from long time it is showning window of working and it has not yet spawned computer .in task manager there is fl16b.exe has started.how i can be sure that they are working second how i read cas fiel it gives message of invalid machine nabeel
