Pipe Roughness in Laminar Flow

Hi All,

How can I model roughness effects in laminar flow conditions? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Swarup.

Re: Pipe Roughness in Laminar Flow

In IDEAS ESC there is a straight forward option by the name "Surface Roughness" andso exit velocity is a function of this parameter - I have seen the effects well in a pipe flow, it would obey darcy's equation very well - turbulence models need to be good (like RNG(Fluent), SST (CFX)) to predict the effect in turbulent region I think.
