help fluent: solidification/melting

Hi, I work with solidification melting model, and I have the following problem: when I use the value of thermal conductivity egal to 200, the solution converge. But when I change the termal conductivity to 20, the solution diverge, Why? I tested to change the under relaxiation factors, But always the solution diverges. Could you help me?

Hi

This increases the Prandtl number by a factor of 10. So, this may go out of range for the methods you might be using. Check for the schemes you are using, since usually with solidification (assuming you are using some metal) the Pr number ought to be small enough.

Hello guys!

I'm trying to simulate an injection moulding process and I need to use solidification and VOF solver simutanteously. But every time I try to do so the Fluuent alert for a fatal error and say to close the program and reopen the case.Do you have this problem at all?

Thanks

HI,
i have some problems with the solidification model.
actually i am confused with the procedure to be carried out for solving this model.
i am currently trying to solve a problem on "solidification in a rectangular enclosure."
i will be very thankful if u could give your e-mail id.

hi
I am currently solving a problem similar to Czochralski growth process(crystal growth) using FLUENT. Please tell me which type of boundary condition(wall,symmetry,.....) I must use for a free-surface type boundary.
thnx
