Help on generating 3-D object using Gambit

Dear All,
I would like to generate a slant (or tilte) 3-D object using Gambit. I know how to generate a regular object (whith is in the same direction or normal to x, y or z coordinate), but do not know how to make it slant or tilte. Please help me! Thank you very much. Rucy |

There's different ways. You can create a "regular object" and rotate it (in the Volume tools, go to the Move/Copy Volumes command (icon is a plane with a blue arrow pointing to two planes... it's on the second row of commands, all the way to the left), and switch the operation from Translate to Rotate... then you just define your axis, and what angle you want to rotate it). This is a "top-down" approach, where you start by defining the highest order component (the volume) and all of the lower order components (the faces, edges, and vertices) are built based on this. The "bottom-up" approach is where you would create vertices that represent the vertices of the volume you want, then connect them with edges, create faces from the edges, then stitch the volumes together to create a volume. Instead of starting with vertices, you can start with edges or faces as well. You can rotate edges and/or faces in the same manner that I stated to rotate a volume. It really depends on what you're trying to accomplish. The top-down approach tends to be simple, but it's limited to basic geometry (box, cylinder, sphere, etc...). The bottom-up approach is much more versitile, and once you're familiar with Gambit, it's not difficult, but it takes a little more time.
