hi there, i modeled the flow of a polymer through a pipe. i am able to display the temperature of the flow through the pipe and i can see how it cools down. now i have to calculate the shear rate and the pressure drop through the pipe. how can i do that? under: display->contours i can display the temperature and different pressures (static, total, etc). the temperatures are ok, but the pressures a about 1e-6Pa, i cant regocnize a drop of pressure how it is supposed to be...

thanks for your help

You can plot the rate of pressure drop at any location. When plotting (or reporting surface intergrals) look under derivatives-> dp/dz, dp/dx, dp/dy.

Dear Marco, you can use the surface-> point command to make points for example at the inlet and the outlet of the test pipe then go to report->surface integral->vertex average and know the exact pressure at each point , also temperature. By the way, I am modeling water-surfactant solution turbulent flow through pipes , it is a drag reducing flow. Is it the case like you (polymer is drag reducing too). What model do use . If possible, please contact me via aly_wael71@yahoo.com we may help each other. Best regards Wael
