to imporat different meshed volumes in fluent
 

I have generated mesh of a silencer in Ansys ICEM CFD. Now i am trying to import it in fluent. The problem is that i have done meshing for different volumes in silencer.i.e. in silencer there are three meshed volumes. So whenever I am importing it in fluent it takes only one meshed volume at each time .i.e.,suppose i have imported inlet side meshed volume then i want to import another side volume then it asks that the current case has not been saved so we have saved it by command Write/Autosave. Still it gives same warning. Can you provide solution for that? i want to know that how i can import different meshed volumes to fluent. thanks

Hi, You must use "tmerge". You can import *.msh files and merge them. At the system prompt, type: utility tmerge -3d Hope it helps. Max

Use TGrid or tmerge as max stated. There is an example of using tmerge in the fluent tutorial for a non-conformal interface. That might help you.

Or you can use merge mesh option in Icem. There u can merge hex & tet avoiding any interface. It will create pyras. Check if u r getting good quality.
