Mass transfer during droplet vaporization

Hi!

During the droplet vaporization law in FLUENT (DPM model), the flux of droplet vapor into the gas phase is related to the gradient of the vapor concentration between the droplet surface and the bulk gas. How does FLUENT calculate the bulk gas vapor concentration?

For example, if the droplet is in a dense spray then the closest surroundings might be near the saturated vapor pressure, while further away the concentration might be close to zero... So, what "distance" should one look at? And how does FLUENT do this in the standard vaporization law?

Thanks, Henrik

Do you have access to the standard DPM laws from Fluent 5 that were posted on this web-site?

No, I don't. That would be very useful I think... How can I get access to them?

Thank you

With the old web-site layout, there used to be an archive of various Fluent UDFs, including the basic models for particle models. Not sure if it is still accessible - used to be by FTP.

If not, your Fluent support engineer may be able to provide these. Good Luck.
