Modeling of solid domains in fluent, no fluid flow

Hello everybody

I am trying to solve the energy equation in a solid domain. I have specified the material to be solid, used a moving reference frame condition for imparting some velocity to the whole domain.

I am able to solve the energy equation, but while post processing I am unable to see any velocity contours over any surface. I can see the temperature contours though.

1) How would I know that I have imparted the velocity I wanted to??

2) Is there anything that I need to do in Fluent/Gambit to solve the problem in solid domain, excepting for declaring the material as solid, fluid zone as solid, and using the moving reference frame condition??

Pls. let me know of any other features that can be useful while modeling solid domains.

Thanks

Hi Satish, I m not sure what kind of problem u r solving but since u have decalred the whole domain as solid, how can u get fluid flow ?

Hi Bharat

There is no fluid flow, I just wanted to know what sort of steps I need to follow while declaring a solid domain?? I am declaring the solid domain with a moving reference frame condition (i.e. imparting a velocity to it). Is there a way to check the velocity that I am imparting by drawing contours??

Thanks
