Default MRF problems

I am trying to get a time averaged steady state solution for 2d flow over rotating non-circular object. When I move the angular velocity of the moving reference frame above a very low number the flow in the moving zone is dominated by the angular velocity I have given the reference frame and I get large gradients between the two zones.

I have never used MRF before, will it not work with this problem?
