vortex shedding frequency
 

Hi all,

I'am a fluent user and meanwhile doing validation cases on the 3D ahmed body. How can I find the vortex shedding frequency and related strouhal number by cfd. should I have to learn UDF for this reason or is there an easier way? thank a lot

Take the FFT (located in the plot drop down menu) of the Cd history. The peak freq. should be twice the shedding frequency. Then plug 1/2 peak freq. into str.# formula. I've used this method for shedding from normal 2D flat plates and cylinders with success.
