Hi there, does anyone know where I can learn about the commands of background execution on UNIX system for FLUENT? The FLUENT tutorial does not provide much information about the right way to write the commands of the background execution on UNIX system. Thanks.

There's been a lot of discussion about this on the forum... I suggest searching the forum for "journal" or "fluent journal".

There is no good resource for learning how to write journal files. The journal file is a collection of TUI or Scheme commands. You can record a journal by going to File->Write->Journal. Then setup a case and stop the journal. Then you can open this journal in a text editor and see what it looks like. Most of the commands (or possibly all of the commands) will be written in the Scheme format. For TUI formats, try typing things into a Fluent window. Any TUI command you can type into a Fluent window will work in a journal. Just be careful because return commands are important.

Hope this helps, and good luck, Jason
