Plot XY of a variable vs. 3D curve
Hi all,

I'm simulating the flow over an isolated 3D wheel rolling onto the ground. During the postprocessing phase I want to plot the pressure coefficient (Cp) vs. the outer wheel circumference (described by the angle or the curve length, that's not important). The fact is that I don't know how to create that curve, positioned, for example, in the symmetry plane of the wheel.

I would be very grateful if anybody could show me the steps to do that.

I've just had the same sort of scenario- what I did was to create a surface using Iso Clip (surface-Iso clip-surface of constant GRID) on the plane I wanted the information on. So if your wheel axis is on the zx plane, clip to values of y co-ordinate. Pick values close together so you end up with a thin strip of the circumference of your wheel

Once you have this thin surface, plot it (plot-xyplot) making sure you write to file and pick the variables you're interested in. Then take the info into something like excel and use simple trigonometry to work out the angle of the points around the circumference of the wheel.

long winded, maybe not the most elegant solution, but it worked for me.

hi i have the same problem. do you know how could a curve be generated
in Fluent?
